Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data AutoRadar processes, why, on what legal basis, and what rights you have. It follows the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Complete before publishing: add your name or company name, address and contact e-mail in the «Controller» section below. Without these the policy is incomplete.

1. Data controller

For any privacy question write to the address above. We reply within one month at the latest.

2. What data we process

If you use the site without an account

Technical data sent by your browser (IP address, browser type, time of access) — created on every visit to any website.
Search terms you type (e.g. «BMW 320d, Germany»). We do not link these to your identity.

You do not need an account to search, and we ask for no personal data to do so.

If you create an account

Data	Why we need it
E-mail address	Signing in and sending alerts if you enable them.
Name and profile picture (Google sign-in)	Shown in your profile. Google shares only basic account details.
Saved searches (make, model, country, filters)	So we can search on your behalf and alert you to new matches.
Saved cars	So you find them when you return, and so we can track price changes.
Telegram chat ID (if you connect Telegram)	So alerts can be delivered to your Telegram.
Notification preferences	So we know whether you want alerts instantly, once a day, or not at all.

We do not collect payment card details, home address, phone number or date of birth.

3. Legal basis

Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — running your account, saved searches and the alerts you asked for.
Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) — basic operation, security and abuse prevention.
Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — when you switch on e-mail or Telegram alerts. You can withdraw consent at any time in your profile.

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell data and do not share it with advertisers. We use the following processors, who process data only on our behalf:

Where data is transferred outside the EU, this happens under Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision of the European Commission.

5. How long we keep it

Account data — for as long as you have an account. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
Saved searches and cars — until you delete them or delete your account.
Technical logs — at most 90 days.

6. Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to:

access — a copy of the data we hold about you,
rectification of inaccurate data,
erasure («right to be forgotten»),
restriction of processing,
data portability,
object to processing based on legitimate interest,
withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise these write to hello@getautoradar.com. You can also switch alerts off yourself in your profile at any time.

If you believe we process your data unlawfully, you may lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority — in Slovenia the Information Commissioner.

7. Cookies

We use only strictly necessary cookies / local storage needed to keep you signed in. We use no advertising or tracking cookies and do not profile visitors for advertising.

8. Car listing data

The listings we show come from publicly accessible websites. We display basic vehicle details (price, year, mileage, country) and a link to the original listing. We do not store sellers' contact details. If you are a seller and want a listing removed from our display, write to us and we will remove it.

9. Security

Data is stored with providers using industry-standard security. Database-level rules (Row Level Security) mean each user can only access their own data. Connections are encrypted (HTTPS).

10. Children

The service is not intended for people under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. For significant changes we will notify you by e-mail or a notice on the site. The date of the last update is shown at the top.
